Russia on Friday expressed deep concern over the U.S. and British sorties over the so-called no-fly zones over Iraq.

In a statement issued by the Russian foreign ministry, Russia Confirmed that the escalation of events would impede the international efforts to find a peaceful way out.

The statement concluded saying that Russia calls for halting the acts that violate Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
