UPR: FRY-GOVERNMENT-STATEMENT
NATO attacking civilian targets
BELGRADE, April 4 (Tanjug) - At its session today, presided over by Momir Bulatovic, the Federal Government noted that the NATO aggression on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was showing its real face, which no media manipulations could hide from the entire world public, including the public in the countries whose governments were engaged in the aggression, the Federal Ministry for Information stated.
The military alliance, which claims that it is the strongest in the world, has ruthlessly and without a trace of military honour targeted civilian facilities, its apparent intention being to exacerbate the ordeal and sufferings of citizens of FRY.
Demolition of bridges, schools, factories and hospitals, destruction of houses and apartments and municipal infrastructure are the only actual result of the actions of these vandals.
The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, all her state organs and institutions and all citizens, unequivocally re-affirm their commitment to defend their country.
The Yugoslav Army and the security forces guarantee the security and protection to each and every citizen, regardless of their nationality and religious affiliation. On countless occasions the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has confirmed her commitment to resolving all problems in international relations and all problems in our state by peaceful and political means.
The Federal Government expresses the hope that the members of the Albanian national community in Kosovo, too, have realized that they can only find shelter and protection in their state - in Serbia and in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and that the NATO power-wielders do not give them anything but false hopes and deadly cargoes of bombs.
The Federal Government repeats its appeal to them not to leave our and their state and to raise their voice against the madness of the NATO killers. With the halting of aggression, conditions will be created for a comprehensive political settlement in Kosovo and Metohija.
The Federal Government calls on all states and all freedom-loving citizens of the world to raise their voice and stop the senseless NATO aggression whose only aim is the ordeal and suffering of innocent civilians in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
The Federal Government adopted the Decree on Implementation of the Law on Criminal Procedure during the State of War. The Decree provides for legal procedures and arrangements designed to increase the efficiency of criminal procedure. At the same time, the Decree fully retains the existing criminal legal system and does not infringe upon the rights and liberties of man and the citizen guaranteed by the Constitution and the Law on Criminal Procedure in peacetime conditions.
The Federal Government adopted the Decree on Implementation of the Law on Manufacture and Sale of Medicaments during the State of War. The sale of medicaments will be possible subject to a permit issued by the Federal Ministry for Labour, Health and Social Policy. Reinforced state control will facilitate regular manufacture and supply of citizens with medicaments also in wartime conditions. (end)
