APPEAL TO THE WORLD FOR HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE
Since the beginning of its aggression, NATO has dropped bombs on FR Yugoslavia which, by their destructive capacity and impact, are twice stronger than those dropped on Hiroshima, the Government of FR Yugoslavia concluded at its session today.
War damages have been estimated at billions of dollars. As for casualties, civilians account for the largest number thereof. As a result of the aggressor's bombs and death in their wake, files of desperate civilians are moving from Kosovo and Metohija in all directions.
At the same time, all citizens of FR Yugoslavia are on the verge of biological survival. There are constantly more than 8 million civilians in shelters and in cellars, where there is neither any electricity nor water nor possibility to deliver food because of the bombardment.
On the pretext of averting a possible humanitarian disaster in Kosovo and Metohija, NATO has produced an actual and universal humanitarian disaster all over our state.
The Government of FR Yugoslavia addresses hereby a dramatic appeal to all international humanitarian organizations and institutions, as well as to the governments of all states in the world, to come to our aid and help prevent a humanitarian disaster of unfathomable proportions.
The Government of FR Yugoslavia appeals, in particular, to the governments of the states which have been taking part in the NATO aggression to stop this crime and, instead of bombs sowing death, send medicaments, blood, food, tents and pre-fabricated facilities, in order to help resolve and mitigate the humanitarian disaster caused by the aggression on FR Yugoslavia.
