AN APPEAL TO REFUGEES

The Government of FR Yugoslavia calls on all citizens of Kosovo and Metohija not to leave their homes, their native areas and their state despite bombs, missiles and other cargoes of death which NATO has been unloading over Kosmet and over the entire territory of FR Yugoslavia.

Before NATO aggression, there were no refugee files, no makeshift camps, ruins and houses set ablaze in Kosovo and Metohija, there was nothing there that would remind one of a humanitarian disaster.

The aggressor wanted a disaster and he has produced one. Now he is using this aggression to justify before the world public the very aggression and crime itself.

The Government of FR Yugoslavia calls in particular on the Kosmet Albanians not to leave, but to stay with us also in this calamity and help stop the aggression as soon as possible. It is only for terrorists and killers that there is no place in the Republic of Serbia and FR Yugoslavia.

The Army and security forces of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbia are the staunchest defenders and protectors of all citizens and of all national communities in Kosovo and Metohija. (end)
