The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia passed into law and incorporated into its legal system the entire body of internationally recognized human rights laws and regulations. The international treaties on human rights, signed and ratified by the FRY, represent an integral part of its internal laws. The FR of Yugoslavia is a multiethnic, multilingual and multireligion country. One third of the population of the FRY consists of national minorities. One third of the provisions of the Constitution of the FRY is devoted to human rights. A special part of the Second Chapter of the Constitution of the FRY regulates the rights of the national minorities. The Constitution of the FRY guarantees the protection of human rights by the courts of justice.
