Noam Comski: What does America really want?
February 21, 1999

Belgrade, February 13th (Tanjug) - Many world observers are concluding with regret that still, in spite of all indications, there are no perspectives for establishing at least bipolar if not a multipolar world.

There is no confronting, no clash of opinions, there are hardly voices here and there crying in the one-pole desert concluding that without opposites there is no movement, no progress, and obviously no way out of the present world dead end.

The only major power in the world is solving everything in the name of everyone. Others, more or less, are silently accepting, as the most famous American dissident Noam Comski interprets the world today, whose attitudes and opinions are more actual than ever, its decisions and tasks that Washington is assigning them in the new division of labor within the so-called new world order which, in fact, means accepting American economic, political and military interests as a road sign in their own behavior as well on their own ground as on the international.

Every part of the world in the new world order has been given, says Comski, a special part directed by the leading world power, serving its interests and coordinating its own interests with American.

Every attempt not to dance to Washington's tune is condemned to fail, says a famous, in modern world most cited linguist, in the essay "What does America really want?", because actions of discipline and punishment are immediately carried out. Such policy of the only left major power in the world and its allies provides cheap raw material, cheap labor, safe market for goods. Every attempt of placing national interests above the great director's and multinational companies interests are being cut in the buds. The very indication of an independent policy which could, as a dangerous example, influence others to take the independent way, is being stigmatized.

All members of world orchestra of powers are for now obediently carrying out that merely apparently harmonious policy, behind which are opposite and not seldom firmly confronted interests, and carrying out dirty jobs in suffocating every even potential example of independence form the way determined by the great director from Washington.

"So-called free market has become", remarks the most renown American dissident - for greatest minds of modern world, as even German newspaper "Frankfurter Algemeine Zeitung" has to admit in the recently published review, which, as many other in the West, criticizes Noam Comski's attitudes, "today's Darwin and Freud as one person" - just a phrase that sounds good in the newspaper articles and schools of economics, but nobody in the government or business world is taking that doctrine seriously even in Washington or in its allied industrially developed countries."

County is the one that takes care of multinational companies' interests whose power is so big that they are appointing presidents and ministers in the countries all over the world in order to respect and defend their interests. Modern world has become the world of the most powerful multinational companies which, in fact, carrying out a policy of the national governments transforming them into marionettes serving their interests.

Since multinational companies are bothered by national borders because they are preventing "free" movement of the capital, goods and labor, thus for them no longer exist national sovereignty or territorial integrity. In order to exploit raw materials and labor and get a maximum profit as efficient as they can, a doctrine of restricted sovereignty is being imposed to all countries in the world. That is why as the main strategic goal in Washington and other allied centers, says Comski, has been set the preventing from coming to power or removing from power every regime in any country that is supporting independence (which respects people's demands for faster improvement of life standard of the masses, and not economic and political elite, and which intercedes for production according to local conditions and needs).

To power are being brought only those who support private investing of foreign capital, production most often only for export and a right to freely take out the capital and profit.

"Those goals are inviolable, points out Noam Comski in the essay "What does America really want?", which still provokes live interest in the world, but not in America itself, because an American scientist has unmasked in it that behind the alleged humane mission are actually the darkest neoimperial and hegemonic interests. Regimes that make that possible are called democratic, and those that prevent that are stigmatized as undemocratic, writes Comski and stresses that holders of such power and ideas are being crushed, if not with dollars then by force. Instead of them people are being brought who will ensure foreign companies to achieve biggest profit and which will themselves gain profit from it.

"USA are always confronting democracy where they cannot control its results - says further Comski and points out that the problem "of real democracies is that they are often becoming the victims of superstitious belief that, instead of American investors' interests, authority should represents interests of its people."

"USA and their allies are only verbally supporting democracy, but truly defending the interests of American investors, thus private capitalistic enterprising. If the investor's rights are violated, democracy can pack its bags, if those rights are ensured, than, says Comski, both killers and criminals, dictators and tyrants, are in their places."

There is a long list of countries where USA have directly or indirectly intervened, military or with dollars, in order to remove "undemocratic" and bring "democratic" regimes to power: since Iran in 1953, than Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Salvador, Nicaragua, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, to Indonesia, Japan, Iraq, Greece, Italy, from SSSR to Balkans, from Croatia across Bosnia and Herzegovina to Macedonia, Kosmet and Montenegro, "actually, as Comski says, throughout the whole world."

Used methods, writes American scientist, aren't at all nice. The things that American terrorists did in Nicaragua, Grenada, Salvador and other countries in which USA had intervened, are not plain killings: one of chief methods was animalistic, sadistic torture - newborns were cracked against the rocks, women, to whom they first cut off breasts and tore skin form the face, were hung by their feet to bleed to death. Men were cut off their heads and impaled. "The goal was always to break independent national movements striving for what was opposite to USA interests - independent handling of national wealth, raw material, labor, and defending national interests.

In the Middle East in the area of Persian Gulf, Iraq is not only in the way because of confronting and allegedly imperiling the interests of "dollar block" but even more as a dangerous example to other Arabian countries whose oil wealth is severely exploited by American and British petrol companies.

In Europe Washington and Germany, as the leader of EU, are from the beginning of Yugoslav crisis against Belgrade, first of all because of refusal to obey their demands, abandon national interests and place itself in the service of Washington's and Bonn's interests, their geostrategic and geopolitical altering Balkans according to economic, political and military interests of "dollar block" in order to transform whole east European area into a western colony (Comski).

Through history unseen domination of one power over the whole world is still justified through an alleged human mission - expanding democracy and protecting human rights. However, the closest USA allies, whose economic interests are more and more often clashed with American, are realizing that behind the alleged democratic and humane mission are bare neoimperial goals in striving to impose dollar political, economic and culture protectorate in the whole world.

Over and over again Washington is boasting that it succeeded in building a system of unions on a volunteer basis because such dictate has been imposed in the world that poor, faced with superior force, rather become colonies than starve to death or get bombed. One of the most famous American political geostrategists, Zbignev Bzezinski, claims, for example, that even Russia and China have realized that, instead of confronting American hegemony, it's more useful to enable free inflow of western, first of all American capital and provide unrestricted access to western technology. Russia cannot provide necessary capital and technology neither to Chine nor to India, says Bzezinski. "It simply hasn't enough strength for that, says the scenarist of breaking of the world communist system. Russia is unable to play a different part than the one it's currently playing in the world."

As for Europe, dominated by Germany, the only left world power always finds a way to keep European continent under its protective umbrella, in spite of the fact that it's, as Comski thinks, taking large steps in strengthening of European common market and threatens to have a bigger and stronger economy than American.

If Europe ever succeeds in pulling itself together and becoming a unique power, USA could become, as Noam believes, second-rate power. All the sooner - concludes American scientist - because Europe leaded by Germans is taking over the initiative to bring whole eastern Europe, with Russia on the head, back its traditional part - the part of economic colony.

Only to those that don't see all this, says Noam Comski, American foreign policy looks like a series of hasty omissions, inconsistencies and nonsense. In fact, American leaders are rather successfully carrying out the tasks set by the large capital ever hungry for profit.
