Milosevic receives Ukrainian foreign and defense ministers
March 28, 1999
The resolute resistance put up by Yugoslavia to the aggressor enjoys the support of the entire peace-loving world. It is of great importance for Ukraine to strongly condemn the NATO pact aggression, led by the United States, Milosevic said. Increasingly stronger demands are coming from countries that are rejecting the use of force in international relations for NATO to end the criminal aggression on FR Yugoslavia. War has been imposed on our country, whose people is defending their homeland, freedom and national dignity. The citizens of Yugoslavia are unanimous in their resolution not to allow at any price the enemies to occupy their country. Faced by trials, the people and the armed forces are firm in their unity to prevent the aggressor from achieving their criminal goals. Those who have a strong motive to fight are bound to be successful. All those who are on the side of the enemy will be held accountable, President Milosevic said. The criminal NATO attacks on the freedom-loving Yugoslavia are directed against freedom and peace in all of Europe. It is the duty of all free states to stand up to the willfulness of NATO, headed by the United States, who are destroying the system of the United Nations and represent a grave threat to international peace and security in the period after World War Two. As an attacked country, Yugoslavia should obtain all necessary aid. President Milosevic thanked the friendly peoples and states for the solidarity and support to our country and our people, which is a great encouragement for our justified fight.
The president said he was confident that the forces of peace, fighting for freedom, independence and equality of sovereign countries will take precedence over forces which want to rule the world by force and by crimes against those people who refuse to bow down.
