Kosovo Albanians' return from forced exile continues
April 10, 1999

Pristina, April 10 (Tanjug) - In spite of the daily criminal bombardment of Pristina and its vicinity, exclusively of civilian targets, the NATO aggressor is not managing to stop the return of ethnic Albanians who fled their homes after the very first bombardments, fearing for their lives.

Increasing numbers of citizens can be seen in the streets of this town in Serbia's Kosovo and Metohija province, going to work or in pursuit of their private affairs, primarily shopping for food in well-stocked stores.

Some ethnic Albanians remained in Pristina all the time, and more and more families have returned to their homes, after being scared off by the NATO bombs or threats from terrorists.

This tide of returning Kosovo Albanians is considered as a direct result of the talks between Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic and Ibrahim Rugova, and also the activities between the Kosovo Albanian leader and state organs that followed.

Returnees claim that they were also motivated to return by the declaration of Yugoslavia's state and military leadership that all citizens are guaranteed safety in their homes, certainly, barring the NATO missiles which do not pick their victims according to nationality.
