NATO destroys civilian targets April 13, 1999
The Centre further said that the Yugoslav Army's anti-aircraft defence force was successful and shot down an enemy missile over New Belgrade at around 1 a.m., after which a blazing light could be seen over the rooftops.
Novi Sad, April 13 (Tanjug) - Last night at 10:00 p.m., the aggressor's NATO aviation fired at the oil refinery in Novi Sad. According to unconfirmed information, the targets were petrol stores in the area between Conoplje and Kljajicevo, which were already shot a couple of days before.
Pristina, Serbia, April 13 (Tanjug) - The Pristina Information Centre reports that at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, six NATO missiles hit a Jugopetrol fuel depot and a plastics factory situated on the road that leads from Pristina to Kosovo Polje in Kosovo-Metohija. One fuel tank is on fire, as is the plastics factory. Firefighters are working to put out the blaze, which can be seen from the centre of Pristina. In the immediate vicinity of the targeted civilian facilities is the Orthodox Christian cemetery which was ploughed by NATO missiles in the night of April 6-7. According to the Information Centre, more than 15 missiles were fired on the area south and southeast of Pristina between midnight and 2 a.m. Shortly before midnight, the anti-aircraft systems shot down a missile over the area.
Cacak, Yugoslavia, April 12 (Tanjug) - NATO planes overflew the area of the central Serbian (Yugoslav) city of Cacak at midnight on Monday, firing a missile that hit the complex of the Sloboda factory of household appliances. This was the fifth air strike on this biggest industrial facility in this part of the Yugoslav republic of Serbia. No information has been immediately available about the extent of the damage or casualties. A large squadron of NATO aggressors' planes overflew the city in waves for half an hour, apparently firing on targets in the area of Kraljevo to the south. Sloboda has been hit by more than 20 missiles so far. The people of Cacak heard strong anti-aircraft fire.
Belgrade, April 12 (Tanjug) - The Belgrade Information Centre has told TANJUG that the Yugoslav anti-aircraft defence force was opening strong fire on invading NATO planes in the Belgrade area between 0:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Tuesday. The Centre said that one missile fired by the aggressors was shot down and fell in the immediate vicinity of the construction site of a new sports hall in New Belgrade, but did not explode. Police and civil defence teams have secured the area. The Belgrade Information Centre has reported that NATO planes at 3:29 a.m. on Tuesday targeted the Vasa Carapic army barracks in Belgrade's Banjica district, in the immediate vicinity of the Military Academy Hospital VMA. Firefighters, ambulances and police are on the scene of the crime.
Sombor, Yugoslavia, April 12 (Tanjug) - NATO planes again on Monday targeted the area of Sombor in the Yugoslav republic of Serbia's northern Vojvodina province. The aggressors' planes overflew the town, which was then rocked by a powerful detonation at 11:05 p.m. from east of the town. No official information has been immediately available, but it is believed that the NATO criminals again targeted the Naftagas oil company warehouse some 10 km from Sombor, for the fourth time since the aggression started on March 24.
Kraljevo, Yugoslavia, April 13 (Tanjug) - At midnight on Monday, NATO planes fired several missiles on Ladjevci airport near Kraljevo in central Serbia (Yugoslavia). No official information has been immediately available about casualties. Anti-aircraft systems opened heavy fire. NATO planes were shelling also the area of Mt Kopaonik. Two fires were started, but it was not immediately clear if they were caused by missiles or planes downed by the heavy anti-aircraft fire in the area. Fire brigades are fighting the flames.
Uzice, Yugoslavia, April 13 (Tanjug) - NATO planes raided the area of Uzice in west-central Serbia (Yugoslavia) during Monday-Tuesday night. Shortly after midnight, two powerful detonations rocked the northwestern part of the municipality, TANJUG's correspondent reports. No official information about damage or casualties has been immediately available.
Smederevo, Yugoslavia, April 12 (Tanjug) - NATO planes overflew the area of Smederevo, Smederevska Palanka and the adjacent villages south and southeast of Belgrade for twenty minutes at around midnight on Monday. The Yugoslav anti-aircraft defence force kept them under strong fire. There is no information about any other shots being fired, TANJUG learns at the Smederevo Information Centre.
Kragujevac, Yugoslavia, April 12 (Tanjug) - Yugoslavia's anti-aircraft force opened fire on NATO planes invading airspace over the central Serbian (Yugoslav) city of Kragujevac some minutes into Tuesday. Eye-witnesses say that the strong anti-aircraft fire brought down at least one missile. No enemy fire has been reported.
Banja Luka, April 12 (Tanjug) - A NATO aircraft fell near the Osmaci village, near the area of Tuzla in Bosnia at about 9:00 p.m. The authorities of Republika Srpska informed Tanjug that the aircraft had been probably hit by the Yugoslav anti-aircraft defence. The pilot wanted to land at the Tuzla airport which is under the control of SFOR.
