Belgrade, Apr 14 (Tanjug).- Four airplanes and two helicopters of the NATO airforce have crashed so far in Bosnia, the Serbian TV reported Wednesday evening quoting a SFOR officer who wished to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

At the same time a detonation was heard in the Mt. Majevica area, followed by a column of smoke. It is supposed that a NATO aircraft that was hit by Yugoslav defense crashed while trying to reach the Tuzla airport.

Another NATO airplane, probaly hit by Yugoslav defense, crashed Wednesday on the Kadijina Cesma hill near Tuzla. Other NATO aircraft are flying over the site, probably in search for the pilot.

The three airplanes all crashed along the border between Republika Srpska and Muslim-Croat Federation, while a fourth crashed near Pale, in Srpska, after trying to land in Sarajevo.

The SFOR officer said that the bodies of two NATO pilots were found in the Muslim-Croat entity, while the body of a third who died after bailing out was found in Srpska territory.

The SFOR officer confirmed statements by Srpska Army that two NATO helicopters with 37 men on board had also crashed in Srpska territory and that only two survived.
