Executed Albanian civilians

Belgrade, April 18 (Tanjug)- Radio-TV Serbia (RTS) late Saturday ran a taped conversation between an AWACS crew and the F-16 pilot who last week targeted a column of ethnic-Albanian refugees, massacring 75 civilians.

The conversation, which was followed by the massacre of refugees, went on as follows:

F-16 pilot: Good day. Charlie here. I am on position 10. No movements below. Request information about red MIGs.

AWACS: Charlie Bravo, Mother here. Patrol towards northwest, direction Prizren, Djakovica. No red MIGs in the air.

F-16 pilot: O.K. I am going to 3,000 feet.

AWACS: Mother to Charlie Bravo. You are getting a reinforcement in 10 minutes. There will be something interesting south of Djakovica.

F-16 pilot: Charlie Bravo to Mother. I am coming out of the clouds. Still don't see anything.

AWACS: Mother to Charlie Bravo. Keep on going north, course 280.

F-16 pilot: Charlie Bravo to Mother. I maintain 3,000 feet. A column of cars, some tractors are below me. What is it? Request instructions.

AWACS: Mother to Charlie Bravo. Do you see tanks? Repeat, where are tanks?

F-16 pilot: Charlie Bravo to Mother. I see tractors. I hope Reds have not camouflaged tanks into tractors.

AWACS: Mother to Charlie Bravo. What kind of a strange convoy? What civilians? Hell. It's all Serbian doing. Destroy the target!

F-16 pilot: Charlie Bravo to Mother. What shall I destroy, tractors, ordinary cars? Repeat, I see no tanks. Request further instructions.

AWACS: Mother to Charlie Bravo. It is a military target. Absolutely legitimate military target. Destroy the target! Repeat, destroy the target!

F-16 pilot: Charlie Bravo to Mother. Understood. Launching!

At the end of the conversation, the pilot code-named Charlie Bravo launched missiles which killed 75 ethnic-Albanian refugees.
