Civilian targets in central Belgrade and several towns in Serbia hit by NATO missiles

Belgrade, April 21 (Tanjug)- By attacking a civilian target, the Usce business center building, in central New Belgrade early Wednesday, the NATO criminals have once again demonstrated that their goal is to kill people and destroy civilian facilities.

The Usce building was an absolutely civilian facility, housing the offices of the Socialist Party of Serbia, about 20 companies and private radio and TV stations "Kosava", "TV Pink" and "BK".

The number of people working the night shift in the building at the time of the bombing is not yet known.

The Kosava radio and TV which had offices in the building and the Pink and BK TVs which had transmitters on the top are off the air.

The 24-storey building that was hit by four missiles is located near residential buildings and the Belgrade Museum of Modern Art.

Fire brigades, ambulances, and city, party and Serbian officials arrived on the site immediately.

The targets of NATO strikes tonight were civilian facilities in Novi Sad, as well as villages in the vicinity of Gornji Milanovac, Cacak, Kraljevo, Uzice and Valjevo.



The NATO aircraft targeted last night at about 02:40 local time Zezelj's bridge in Novi Sad.

It was the last remaining bridge out of three that used to connect the capital of Voivodina with Petrovaradin, Sremski Karlovci and other places on the right bank of the Danube. The bridge was targeted with two missiles. No information is available yet on any damage.

The two other Novi Sad bridges were destroyed in NATO bombings on April 1 and 3.

After the strike on Zezelj's bridge, missiles targeted the state television relay on Iriski Venac and Novi Sad refinery.

Due to tonight's attack of enemy missiles on the relay RTS and other radio and TV stations are off the air in Vojvodina.

Aggressor aviation in its barbarian strikes hit forty minutes after midnight villages in the vicinity of Cacak and Kraljevo.

Tonight at 12:50 NATO aviation, according to Tanjug reporter, NATO aviation hit civilian facilities in Mrsac village, twenty kilometers west from Kraljevo. Several missiles were shot, while Yugoslav Army air defense was strong and, according to RTS, at least two enemy missiles were fell down.

A great number of criminal NATO aircraft overflew wider area of Uzice region, where the air defense acted hard as well.

Two strong explosions were heard in the wider area of Novi Slankamen, some thirty kilometers south-east from Novi Sad. The first detonation was at 22:20 and the second at 22:22 local time.

According to the Tanjug reporter, the Yugoslav Army air defense in the wider area of Gornji Milanovac fell down one NATO missile at about 01:00 local time. According to numerous witnesses, the missile was hit by the air defense and exploded in the air. The place where it fell has not been precisely located yet.

According to reports, some persons were wounded, while material damage is big.


Novi Sad, April 21 (Tanjug).- The NATO aircraft targeted the last remaining bridge in Novi Sad, capital of Serbia's northern province of Vojvodina, at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, Tanjug correspondent reports.


Criminals hit the last bridge in Novi Sad
The last bridge on the Danube connecting the city with the right bank of the river was targeted with two missiles.

The bridge is not crashed but in the middle of it on Petrovaradin side, there are damages preventing road and railway traffic.

The international railway road connecting Belgrade and Budapest is cut now.

Due to the damages in the bridge more than 40000 citizens on the Srem bank are again without drinking water. Water supply to these villages was cut after hitting Varadin bridge and Freedom bridge and restored two days ago.


Beska, April 21, 1999 (Tanjug) - NATO projectiles attacked last night the bridge near Beska which connected Srem and Backa and disabled it for further use.

The aggressor's aircraft hit one of the supporting pillars, 30 m long. One of the constructors of the bridge, Radomir Mitic asks: "Why do they want to destroy everything we've got?" The bridge near Beska was the fourth bridge in Vojvodina, destroyed by the NATO aggressors.


Pristina, April 21, 1999 (Tanjug) - The aggressor's aircraft hit last night with several missiles, the refugee camp near Djakovica. There are many killed and wounded persons. The exact number is not known yet. The investigation is in due course.
