Civilian facilities as enemy's targets once again last night April 24, 1999
NATO planes attacked the areas north-east, south-west and south of the Kosovo and Metohija capital. Three projectiles were fired on the Pristina outing site Grmija. A series of explosions were heard near the ethnic-Albanian villages of Pomazatin and Belacevac, in the area around the civilian airport Slatina and from the direction of Mt. Goles. The Army of Yugoslavia air defense countered the attack effectively, and according to eyewitness accounts, shot one plane, which left a trace as it flew towards Albania. Enemy NATO aircraft launched eight projectiles on the Voivodina capital of Novi Sad at 3:15 a.m. local time Saturday, only fifteen minutes after the first attack, in which, according to first reports, several projectiles were fired at targets outside the city area.
The enemy projectiles fell on the populated part of the city, but no reports are yet available about possible casualties and the damages. NATO aircraft had overflown Novi Sad at around 3 a.m. local time, but were thwarted in their plans by a strong Yugoslav air defense. Great damages were caused on civilian facilities in the city of Nis and nearby villages in a half-hour air assault by the NATO criminals, which started in the early minutes of Saturday. In the NATO fascists' strikes on the city, itself, one of the leading Nis suppliers of pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies, Velefarm, suffered great damages, including on its vehicle fleet.
Significant damages were also inflicted on the Nis machine-building complex and the secondary mechanical engineering school. Villages in the Nis area were also targeted, but the greatest damages were suffered by Popovac and Cokot. The marshaling yard in the village of Popovac was greatly damaged. NATO aircraft launched 26 highly destructive projectiles in the criminal attack on the north-western and western parts of Nis, according to city civil defense commander Jovan Zlatic. The attack was the ninth on Nis since NATO aggression on Yugoslavia was launched on April 24. NATO aircraft targeted the wider area of Kraljevo, town in central Serbia, at 2:45 a.m. local time Saturday. Strong explosions were heard in the town and glass on the windows shook from them. The town emergency centre confirmed in a statement to Tanjug that two projectiles had hit the fuel storage in Bogutovac, which has several times so far been a target of NATO strikes. No reports are yet available about possible casualties.
The strong explosions caused a landslide on the Kraljevo-Raska road.
