One who defends its country doesn't use forbidden weapon

Belgrade, April 24 (Tanjug) - NATO aggressors are trying to compensate for the failure of their daily massive airstrikes on Yugoslavia to achieve the promised and planned targets by mounting a psychological propaganda campaign, alleging without any foundation in fact that the Yugoslav army is using radioactive and chemical weapons, the Yugoslav Army Supreme Command said on Saturday.

This in fact is what the aggressors are shamelessly doing themselves before the eyes of the world public, the army said in its statement, adding that by bombing chemical and oil processing facilities, they are causing heavy damage and threatening to produce catastrophes equal in effect to the use of chemical weapons.

Remnants of radioactive ammunition have been found in many places raided by NATO planes, confirming without a shadow of doubt that the aggressors themselves are using this kind of weaponry.

The incontrovertible fact that Yugoslavia does not produce chemical weapons and that its armed forces do not use them is incorporated in the defense concept and strategy of the Yugoslav Army.

Yugoslavia has never been an occupier and has never waged a war of invasion, and its army is organized only for the defense of the country.

The Yugoslav Army fights combat operations only on its own territory and together with its people, where any use of radioactive ammunition, poison gases or other chemical weapons would be tragic from the point of view of survival and fatal genetically.

As part of implementation of the sub-regional arms control agreement, the Yugoslav Army units, institutions and installations have been subjected to thorough inspections. In not a single case was there found any trace of the production or existence of chemical weapons, which the aggressors making the accusations well know, or should know.

Also, they should know who are the biggest producers of weapons of mass destruction, as well as who has Gulf, Vietnam and many other war syndromes produced by a mindless machinery of death and destruction.

Yugoslavia does not have missiles or installations for the production of poison gases or chemical weapons, and its army neither has nor uses inhumane or banned weapons of war.

The capability, determination and morale of the Yugoslav Army are rooted in the experience of centuries of liberation wars and valiant military ability. Rooted in their love for freedom, patriotism and humanity, rather than lies, threats and mercenary principles, the statement said.
