Aggressor attacked power system again
May 14, 1999



Belgrade, May 14 (Tanjug) - Aggressor's NATO aviation attacked again during the last night and early morning power system of Serbia and targeted with missiles civilian facilities in districts of Vrbas, Uzice and Fruska Gora.

Aggressor acted last night at 10:40 p.m. with special highly conductive materials on some of the high voltage installations of state owned electric enterprise of Serbia. Causing the blackout, these installations are out of order what caused the loss of electricity in some parts of the Republic. Crews of the enterprise were engaged in eliminating the consequences of action of the aggressor.

The city center for information said that the aggressor's aircraft dropped several graphite bombs on the district of Kostolac and Veliki Crljeni and caused a cut off of the electric power.

According to the information of the city center, the electricity in Belgrade was cut in settlements of Cukarica, New Belgrade, Sremcica, Ostruznica, Rusanj, Obrenovac. The electricity was cut in some other towns as well: Sabac, Kostolac, Veliki Crljeni, part of Novi Sad and some other towns in Serbia.

The city center of Nis said that the district of the southeast of Serbia was out of electricity from 10:30 p.m. Nis was totally in dark, as well as districts of Pirot, Aleksinac, Prokuplje and Leskovac.



Aggressor's NATO aviation hit with one missile an old metal bridge near the center of town of Vrbas. Walls of some near-by residential buildings fell from a very strong detonation, and the glass broke on a huge number of houses in the center of Vrbas. The roofs were damaged too. There are no information about wounded people yet, and a part of Vrbas was out of the electricity. The targeted bridge was connecting Vrbas with Novi Sad and other towns in northern part of Vojvodina.

Aggressor's aircraft were flying over Novi Sad at 10:40 p.m. and Yugoslav Army Air Defense opened fire on them strongly. Few detonations were heard from the area of Fruska Gora few minutes later. There are no information about the aims of aggressor yet.

Aggressor's NATO aviation attacked this morning, shortly after 3:00 a.m. district of Uzice. Four strong detonations were heard from the north-western part of the town.



Air danger alert was heard last night in Belgrade at 9:20 p.m., when a strong air defense of Yugoslav Army responded. Air defense acted few more times during the night and in the early morning hours.


Urosevac, May 13 (Tanjug) - Aggressor's NATO aviation bombed today shortly after noon the region of municipality of Urosevac, south-west from Pristina. According to the information of the Regional Emergency Center, districts of Gornje Nerodimlje, Manastirica and Kamena Glava were hit each one with one missile.


Leskovac, May 13 (Tanjug) - Today at 3:00 p.m. criminal NATO aviation targeted the surroundings of town of Leskovac with eight highly destructive missiles. Three of these did not explode.

The suburb Donje Sinkovce, which was the target for three times since the beginning of this barbarian aggression, was hit today with three NATO missiles. One missile fell on Arapova valley in the foot of Hisar hill, popular picnic yard of citizens of Leskovac. Two missiles ended up in the region of Stupica, and one missile fell on each one of Draskovac and Gornja Kupinovica in the municipality of Leskovac. There were no human casualties, and the material damage is being checked by the authorities.
