Untrue and untenable part of the U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan's report

New York, September 21 - FR of Yugoslavia has drawn the attention of the U.N. Security Council to the untrue and untenable part of U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan's report on the Stabilization force SFOR in Bosnia, from which it appears that those forces are carrying out a mandate, which no one gave them, monitoring commodity trade with FRY.

The U.N. Secretary General in his report on Stabilization force SFOR in Bosnia, from September 15, mentions monitoring oil deliveries to Yugoslavia, without a reason.

In that part of the report, which Yugoslav Ambassador Vladislav Jovanovic quotes, Annan cites that "there were no violations" concerning monitoring oil deliveries to FRY, which were supervised from checkpoints.

The statement has drawn attention to SFOR's unlawful mandate. Yugoslavia reminds the Security Council that Yugoslav sanctions were lifted under Resolution 1074 from 1996.

Yugoslavia further says that Resolution 1088 (1996) which set up SFOR, has no reference in any of its provisions to sanctions monitoring.

The Yugoslav government requests an explanation for SFOR's activity and notes that its mandate must be brought in line with the U.N. Security Council Resolution 1088.
