[allAfrica.com] Defence Minister Announces Troops Withdrawal From DR Congo Angola Press Agency (Luanda) NEWS October 17, 2002 Posted to the web October 17, 2002 Luanda Angolan Defence Minister, Kundi Paihama announced troops withdrawal from RD Congo The military contingent of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) who had been deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, under the SADC intervention, will move back to Angola until monthend, Defence Minister Kundi Paihama said Wednesday. Addressing press short after a visit to the 101st FAA Brigade, Paihama said the Angolan military leave that territory after having accomplished their duty. "Our mission in Democratic Congo has been fulfilled with success and honour" said the Angolan Defence Minister, after stressing the respect the Angolan Armed Forces has gained. According to him, there will be no much difficulties in withdrawing the Angolan troops in the DRCongo because, right now, "the effective which is there is too little".
