Christians, Muslims clash in Iganga

A row has erupted among Christians and Muslims in Busembatia Town Council in
Iganga over who should slaughter animals in the area.
The sub-county leadership has however warned religious leaders against engaging
in actions that directly threaten the town council's security and peace.
The LC-III executive in Namalemba met Dec. 30 and cautioned the feuding
parties.
The meeting followed an earlier letter written by the Busembatia Mosque leaders
accusing the Discipleship Mission Born-Again Christians of defiantly
slaughtering and selling animals to the public during the festive season.
The Muslims said the action is illegal and warned of serious repercussions if
the Christians continue slaughtering animals.
