Speaking to Angop from the advanced command post of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), in Cabinda, the source assured that the people in question have been getting medical assistance from the local administration. They have been receiving from the army first need goods and clothing. The people are unanimous in acknowledging the difficult life they had while in the area that was controlled by Flec/Fac, having revealed that they were forced to live like "savages". The people were thankful for the "warm and helpful" reception they had from the Government authorities, particularly, by the army. They appealed to their fellow citizens in the bush to come and join the national reconciliation policy adopted by the government. The people, said the source, have informed that they were forbidden to listen to radio programmes that called for their surrender to the Government. Nevertheless, the national army has been trying to sensitise the soldiers and people under Flec/Fac control, to convince them to present themselves to the legal authorities of the province.   =============================================================================   Copyright © 2002 Angola Press Agency.
