46 Lra Killed New Vision (Kampala) NEWS December 31, 2003 Posted to the web December 31, 2003 By Dennis Ojwee Kampala THE UPDF has killed 46 Lord's Resistance army (LRA) rebels and rescued 374 captives in northern Uganda this month. In an end-of-month security report released by the Gulu-based northern UPDF spokesman, Lt. Paddy Ankunda, yesterd the report said 11 rebels were captured and seven surrendered. Ankunda said they recovered 28 sub-machine guns and 719 bullets from the rebels. He said only one UPDF soldier was killed and another one injured. The Lira-based UPDF fifth Division spokesman, Lt. Chris Magezi, said the division rescued 318 captives in December. Magezi said they killed 40 rebels and eight surrendered in the same period.
