[allAfrica.com] [allAfrica.com_Top_Headlines] Daboh Blames Unongo, Saror Forbenue Crisis This Day (Lagos) NEWS May 17, 2004 Posted to the web May 17, 2004 By Kola Ologbondiyan Abuja The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Assistant National Auditor for the North Central Zone, Dr. Godwin Daboh Adzuana, has put the blames of the political violence that rocked Kwande local government, Benue State, at the doorstep of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) governorship candidate in last May election, Wantaregh Paul Unongo and Senator Daniel Saror (ANPP, Benue). According to a signed statement made available to THISDAY, Adzuana stated that "all PDP leaders in Benue State and the governor of Benue State, Mr. George Akume, have no hands whatsoever in the conflict and violence which has been unleashed on the people of Kwande. "Therefore, any attempt to unjustly link us to the ANPP designed, inspired and orchestrated violence in Kwande local government is completely unacceptable and will be resisted by all law abiding members of PDP in Benue State within available legal means at our disposal," the statement stressed. Adzuana, who gave graphic details of the violence that has rocked the local government since the last general election and the last March local government election, noted that the last "election were conducted in all the 23 local government areas of the state but the fact that only Kwande is witnessing this prolonged violence tells a lot about the two individuals who have now resorted to propaganda and campaign of calumny deliberately directed at the leadership of the PDP and government of Benue State., "Their sole objective is to distort the facts and exonerate themselves before the public. Nigerians must note that, in spite of all these persistent acts of provocation, the leaders of the PDP in Ukum and Kwande local government councils and the state have continued to plead with our members to remain calm and law abiding," he further said.   =============================================================================   Copyright © 2004 This Day.
