Museveni Meets American General

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has held talks with a USA military delegation led by
General Charles Wald.
The meeting took place on Tuesday at the State House, Nakasero, a statement
said yesterday.
Museveni and the US delegation discussed a number of issues on the promotion of
peace and stability in the region.
Museveni said instability, perpetuated by the LRA rebels was ending.
He thanked the American government for the support to the Great Lakes region in
an attempt to achieve permanent peace.
Wald hailed the contribution of the Government and Museveni to creating peace
in the region. He said the US was committed to the promotion of peace in
Africa.
He noted the need to strengthen co-operation in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
