Obasanjo Seeks Enhanced Ties With South Africa

President Olusegun Obasanjo has called for enhanced cooperation between Nigeria
and South Africa especially in the areas of aviation and defence.
At an audience with special envoys of President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa at
State House, the President said discussions in these areas must be sustained
especially in the aviation sector.
In their separate remarks, the special envoys, Mosiuoa Lekota and Alec Erwin,
Ministers of Defence and Public Enterprises respectively, expressed South
Africa's readiness to strengthen relations in these areas for the mutual
benefits of both countries.
