Army spokesman Major Shaban Bantariza said, "We blocked Kony's advance towards Juba and now he is trapped between Panyikwara and OwinyKibul. The helicopters and ground troops were last evening closing in on that area." He said Kony's mission was to enter Uganda and hide in the Acholi hills. Last Wednesday, Kony was reported to be heading north towards the largest south Sudanese city of Juba after he survived a raid in Kit valley. Bantariza hailed the role of Sudan in the latest victories against the Lord's Resistance Army. "We get very good cooperation especially in provision of intelligence from the Sudan People's Armed Forces," Bantariza said. Bantariza said on Saturday another group of rebels was attacked at Sudan's Kalabeta village, with six rebels killed and eight rifles recovered.   =============================================================================   Copyright © 2004 New Vision.
