The Unicef humanitarian situation report on northern Uganda for September has
said scattered rebel attacks were hampering its efforts to deliver assistance
to camps for the internally displaced.
The report said scattered LRA attacks on IDP camps, abductions and road
ambushes were reported in September despite defections from rebel ranks and
killing of the rebels.
The report said LRA rebel leader Joseph Kony's re-entry into Uganda had led to
a series of clashes between the UPDF and the rebels.
It said reports of rebel captures, surrender and rescue of captives followed
these clashes.
