Mulumba Kampala France has lauded Uganda for allowing the French led multinational peace keeping force to use Entebbe Airport as a rear base. French Ambassador, Mr Jean-Bernard Thiant said this Tuesday night and added that French President, Mr Jacques Chirac wrote to President Yoweri Museveni expressing gratitude at the end of last year. "The Mission wouldn't have been possible without the cooperation of Ugandan authorities and people of Uganda," Mr Jean-Bernard Thiant told diplomats invited to witness the decoration of Mr Georges Tytens, Chief Executive Officer of Entebbe Handling Services with a Gold medal for national Defence of the Republic of France at his residence. "Mr Tytens was in Entebbe. He was one of the workers who helped the French army. "I am very proud that my country rewarded some people who helped our people outside," said Ambassador Thiant. "We have good cooperation with government.
