Uganda Fought Sudan Thrice, Says Museveni

Uganda fought Sudan on a number of occasions, President Museveni has revealed.
"Yes we fought Sudan three times - 1995, 1997, 1999 that was the last time. But
now we are at peace," Museveni said while appearing on Tonight with Andrew
Mwenda Live on Kfm on Thursday night.
Museveni said LRA rebel leader Joseph Kony was an agent of Sudan. "He was being
sent by somebody, somebody was giving him arms and telling him 'you go and kill
people in Uganda'. You could not deal with Kony without the capacity to deal
with the one who was sending him. The one who was sending him needed tanks to
deal with him.
"So you cannot talk of dealing with an agent without the capacity of dealing
with the principal who is sponsoring him," he said.
