[allAfrica.com] [AED_Fundraising_Gala_Dinner_2004] 2004-Feline Exercises: Pentagon Officers Attend Manoeuvres Angola Press Agency (Luanda) NEWS October 26, 2004 Posted to the web October 26, 2004 Luanda Two officers with the US Secretariat of Defence (Pentagnon) attended the military exercises code-named "2004-Feline" which for 12 days joined about 600 special troops from the Portuguese Speaking Community (CPLP) in Cabo Ledo region, Angola's northern Bengo province, Angop learned. They were col. Kelly Langdorf who until 2003 had been the US military attaché to Angola and the head of the US military mission to Portugal, Rodney Sisson. Col. Langford explained that their participation aims at assessing the organising capacity of Angola in manoeuvres of certain level, and studying the possibilities of co-operation with attending countries. He informed that the intention is of establishing multilateral connections with Portuguese speaking countries (Angola, Brazil, Portugal, Cape Verde, Mozambique, São Tomé and Princípe, Guinea Bissau and East Timor), armies with a view to a future reinforcement of military ties. Kelly Langdorf, a US Army paratrooper, works currently in Pentagon's African Issues Department, attending to 11 Central African countries, including Angola. Last September, the chief of Staff Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), gen.
