Speaking to journalists last Friday on the occasion of the opening of an outreach center at Adigrat, Legwaila said, "We are patience enough to stay at the border until the Boundary Commission finalizes demarcation. We gain nothing from losing patience," he said adding. He said that UNMEE would not impose any solution upon the two countries Rather, it would support them to demarcate the border. "The responsibility to demarcate solely lies upon Ethio-Eritrea Boundary Commission consisting of five people appointed by the two governments in 2002," he said. Meanwhile, UNMEE opened last Friday its fifth outreach center in the town of Adigrat where its peace keeping force is stationed. The center is the third on the Ethiopian side following similar ones in Addis Ababa and Makele. The center in Adigrat will be providing up-to-date information on the activities of UNMEE's and that of the UN in general. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Legwaila said that UNMEE would use the Center as a channel to impart its message of peace to the residents of the town and its environs. Adigrat is chosen not only because it is the headquarters of sector center and the presence of the 15th UNMEE battalion but more importantly because of its convenient location at the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea. The center provides its visitors access to radio programs, documentary films, weekly press briefings, newsletters and other documents.   ==============================================================================  Copyright © 2004 Addis Tribune.
