[allAfrica.com] [stanbic.com] Taylor Points Finger At UNMIL for Rent Hikes The NEWS (Monrovia) NEWS December 8, 2004 Posted to the web December 8, 2004 Monrovia Engineering Professor Emmett A. Taylor says UN Personnel should be allowed to reside in other parts of the city other than being restricted to live only in Monrovia and Congo Town. A release issue quotes professor Taylor as saying that this would go a long way in addressing the issue of rent hiking and shortage of houses, a reason for which the hotel ship is being brought into the country. Taylor, former Minister of Public Works, said Monrovia is safe place and that UN personnel can live anywhere they want. He indicated that it was unfortunate for the UNMIL to place restriction on its personnel to live in certain quarters, thus creating a housing problem for these personnel. Taylor pointed out that UN Secretary General Special Representative, Jacques Klein is being ill-advised to bring in the Hotel ship.   =============================================================================   Copyright © 2004 The NEWS.
