50 Military Vehicles for Defense Ministry

Deputy Defence Minister, Joe Blell disclosed Monday that Netherlands has
donated 50 military vehicles worth 2 million Euros to the Ministry of Defence.
He says the gesture would help the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces
(RSLAF) in its restructuring exercise.
"The RSLAF needs logistical support to enhance its restructuring process and
capability to handle the country's security," he said, adding that by 2007,
government would reduce the size of the army to10, 500 personnel.
Canadian Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Maddison says Canada is
helping the RSLAF to become a standard and disciplined force.
He said Canada would help to develop the capacity of the RSLAF to participate
in international peacekeeping operations.
