The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told ENA yesterday that a delegation of the United Nations led by a Special Representative of the Secretary General will also attend the IGAD ministerial meeting. The meeting will take place in Jowhar town, which is temporary seat of the transitional government. Speaking in Nairobi, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General said IGAD is more responsible than the international community in finding solutions for problems in Somala. The national consensus and establishment of the Somali transitional government are outcomes of efforts exerted by the IGAD, the special representative is quoted as saying. The IGAD ministerial meeting is organized in accordance with the call made by the UN Security Council to the IGAD, Arab League, European Union and other pertinent bodies to exert efforts for the peaceful resolution of differences among institutions of the Federal Transitional Government of Somalia. Since the establishment of the Federal Transitional Government of Somalia in Nairobi, various parts of the transitional government have created differences on the seat of the transitional government. President of the Federal Transitional Government of Somalia, Abdulahi Yousuf Ahmed and his supporters have settled in Jowhar town, which is located 90 kilometres away from Mogadishu, while Speaker of parliament of the transitional government, Sherif Hassen Sheik Adan led his supporters to Mogadishu. Members of the transitional government have called up on the two parties to come to debate and narrow their difference in a bid to make the transitional government functional. The IGAD ministerial meeting would be held for two consecutive days.   =============================================================================   Copyright © 2005 The Ethiopian Herald.
