Peter Waldron, 59 of Kisugi, David Mwesigye, 28 of zana, Byaruhanga Muramuzi, 20 of Luwafu, Kisembo Bitamala, 46 of Luwafu, Kasangaki Bahigani, 29, of Bukejja, Dido Manyoroha, 35 of Zana, and Benjamin Byakagaba, 20, of Luwafu, appeared at Buganda Road Court yesterday. Casually dressed, the accused appeared before Grade One Magistrate Suzan Kanyange who did not allow them to enter a plea due to lack of jurisdiction, and remanded them in Luzira Prison until March13. Prosecution led by State Attorney Hellen Wenene alleged that on February 20, at plot 4487 Barnabas Street Kisugu Muyenga, in Kampala, the men were found in possession of firearms no.1996AF U3346, 56310167, 1986-BY 3487, 11908 and 180 bullets, without a valid licence. The charge was read to Waldron, formerly from Wyoming, USA, and to his co- accused in Swahili. Dressed in a green t-shirt and blue jeans, a handcuffed and barefoot Waldron was led to the court from Central Police Station with the other six men at about 2:40pm. Noah Twesiga represented Waldron, who says he is an information technology consultant with the health ministry. Waldron also claimed to be the founder of City of Faith Ministries and an adviser to the president of the Contact America Group.
