The party noted that all arms issued to security personnel be controlled from an arsenal, well guarded, jointly supervised by representatives of United Nations Civilian Police and the Liberia National Police (LNP). The Liberty Party said officers must be assigned arms only when going on duty, and officers should sign for arms prior to assuming duties, indicating serial numbers and number of bullets. The Party's press statement which comes following the issuance of side arms to members of the LNP, also stated that officers should give details report on the use of bullets if he or she returns at the end of a shift with fewer bullets or ammo than the quantity issued.
