Mayor Lauds RDF On Umuganda

The Mayor of Kigali Dr Aisa Kirabo Kacyira has lauded the Rwanda Defence Forces
(RDF), for their participation in the community service commonly known as
Umuganda. In a letter to the ministries of defence and local government dated
February 16, the Mayor, who was referring to the RDF's participation in
Umuganda last month, praised the soldiers for their commitment to development
through ensuring good sanitation in the community.
Meanwhile, the RDF will today join other people in the monthly community
services, with the soldiers' activities focusing on decent habitats for
genocide survivors.
And, according to the Military Spokesman Maj. Jill Rutaremara, all army units
in the country have been notified of the development. "All RDF units have
received the message that was issued by the RDF headquarters," Rutaremara said
on phone Thursday.
