Chevron Suspends Offshore Operations

Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the NNPC/CNL Joint Venture, says it
is temporarily suspending some non-essential work activities in its offshore
operations.
A statement from the company at the weekend said this is necessary to help the
company maintain high priority on the safety and security of its workforce and
facilities following increased challenges in the Niger Delta region.
There is currently no immediate impact on production, it said.
The company further said the change in work activity level, mainly drilling and
construction, is a precautionary measure being taken as a result of recent
security incidents in the region.
"We are working with all appropriate government agencies and community leaders
in the region to improve the situation and expect to resume normal business
operations as soon as possible".
