allAfrica.com * Riots Scare Off Ugandan Businessmen The Monitor (Kampala) NEWS 11 January 2008 Posted to the web 10 January 2008 By Ismail-Musa Ladu Kampala UGANDAN traders claim they are now being targeted inside Kenya by angry locals following President Museveni's congratulatory message to President Mwai Kibaki upon winning Kenya's disputed election. Kampala City Traders Association [Kacita] Spokes person Issa Ssekitto told Daily Monitor that several Ugandan traders in Kenya live in fear and at least two Ugandan trucks fully loaded with merchandise were set ablaze last week in Kisumu. "So far, we have lost two trucks in Kenya, one was a fuel truck for Petrocity [a local Fuel company] and the other was a hardware truck which were all burnt down by the protesters in Kisumu," Mr Ssekitto said.
