Georgian
politicians apparently have never realized who they are dealing with.
Neither the provocation that hardline chauvinist from the Russian
government Zhirinovsky did in Abkhazia, nor cheekiness of Russian
minister Ivanov have ever been able to shake the confidence of the
Georgian side about a possible 'constructive dialogue' with modern

As
long as Georgian politicians are hoping for a phone call to Putin from
Washington, the invaders and their accomplices in South Ossetia are
playing their own scenario, which has already been tested in the fall
of 1992 on the territory of Prigorodny District (Russian word meaning
'Suburban') of North Ossetia (which Stalin seized from Ingushetia back
in 1944). On the eve of the so-called Ossetian-Ingushetian conflict
Ossetian formations, which were legalized as law enforcement
structures, were resorting to all kinds of provocations. When the
outrage among Ingushetians reached its peak, they resorted to
reciprocal actions.
First,
by using heavy armament and tanks Russians made Ingushetians leave
their villages. Then Ossetian formations followed behind the backs of
the Russian troops. They had the mission of «final solution of the
Ingushetian problem» by ethnic cleansing.
Probably,
the Ossetian side has this way of actions as its national tradition.

gunfights and the propagandistic flow that follows them during the day
in the Russian media are pursuing the goal to present the Ossetians as
victims of Georgian aggression. According to the 'suburban' scenario,
it may be followed by operations of Russian troops against Georgian
villages, -- to defend holders of Russian citizenship. And after that
Ossetian formations are planning to show up.
In
this situation all potential participants, who are not making their
attachments a secret, are present at the scene of possible clash and
ethnic cleansing. Everybody can see it, but nobody wants to notice it,
or everybody is afraid to talk about it out loud, except for Georgian
leaders. Russian military, who are present in the region, have
graphically shown on many occasions whose side and whose interests they
will be on.
