The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY),consisting of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Montenegro, was proclaimed by the will of their peoples and the Constitution on 27 April 1992, after the illegal secession of other republics from the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY). The FRY continues the state and legal personality of the former SFRY. By its Constitution the FRY is a State of pluralistic, parliamentary democracy committed to the rule of law, free market economy, freedom of public activities, social justice, human rights, equality and welfare of all citizens. The goals and foreign policy priorities of the FRY are peace, security, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region and in the World of Future. The FRY is also committed to maintaining friendly relations and cooperation with all countries, regional, European and international organizations, based on equality and on the principles of the UN Charter. As a Mediterranean and Danubian country the FRY plays an important geostrategic, political and economic role in Europe, and has important position in transport and communication links among several European and Asian regions. With its scenic beauty, pleasant climate, unique cultural and historic heritage, its Adriatic Coast, mountains, rivers, spas, villages, museums, including luxurious hotels, sports and leisure facilities, the FRY has much to offer to tourists from all over the world.
