JABLANICKI DISTRICT

The JABLANICKI District expands in the south eastern parts of Serbia. It encompasses the municipalities of: Leskovac, Bojnik, Lebane, Medvedja, Vlasotince, and Crna Trava. It has a population of 255,011.

Seat of the District is in the city Leskovac, the biggest settlement in Serbia south. Famous cultural-historic monuments in this District are: the Roman necropolis in Mala Kopasnica originating from the second century A.C, the Jasunjski Monasteries dedicated to the Virgin of Transfiguration and St. John the Baptist, built in 1499 as the endowment of monastery sister Ksenija, as well as the church of St. John the Baptist from the sixteenth century, being a true pearl among monuments.

Holders of economic development of the Jablanicki District are: "Latex" textile industry and "Nevena" cosmetics industry.
